Seen FNF crews in your neighborhood?
If you've seen our trucks on your street, it's because we're inspecting and repairing hail-damaged roofs near you. Many of those homeowners had no idea anything was wrong.
Hail damage doesn't always leak right away. A bruised shingle can hold for months before it cracks, lets water in, and starts rotting the decking underneath. By then, the repair is bigger and it's harder to connect the damage to the storm that caused it. Catching it early keeps the fix simpler.
Raton's roofs also work harder than most. At nearly 6,700 feet, they take intense sun, heavy snow, and constant freeze-thaw cycles, and all of that speeds up the damage once hail has cracked a shingle or knocked off its granules.
FNF Roofing has been in business since 2005 and is now a licensed New Mexico contractor (NM Lic. 426675) with an office in Albuquerque.
How to know it's really us
After a storm, unlicensed crews show up fast. Here's how to check that someone really works for FNF:
- Look for the FNF logo on their shirt and ask for their name. Our New Mexico reps are Ryan and Damion.
- Check that our NM license number is 426675.
- Call us and we'll confirm who they are before anyone gets on your roof.
What size hail damages a roof?
Northeastern New Mexico sees hail every summer. Hail reports for the Raton area include golf ball-size stones in August and September 2025 and several quarter-size storms in summer 2026. Compare what fell at your place to the sizes below.
Under 1 inch
Can still loosen granules and dent soft metal, especially on older roofs or when driven by strong wind.
1 inch and larger
Large enough to bruise and crack asphalt shingles. If you saw hail this size, schedule an inspection.

What hail does to a roof
From the street, a hail-damaged roof usually looks fine. Up close, our inspectors check each of these.
Bruised shingles
Soft spots where the mat underneath is fractured, even when the surface looks intact.
Granule loss
Missing grit exposes the asphalt to sun, which shortens the life of the whole roof.
Dented metal
Vents, flashing, drip edge, and gutters show hail marks clearly and help document the storm.
Cracked membranes
On flat and low-slope commercial roofs, impact fractures can let water travel far from the hit.
Skylights and caps
Cracked skylight domes, ridge caps, and plastic vents are common and easy to miss.
Hidden leaks
We check the attic and decking for moisture before stains ever reach your ceiling.

Questions from Raton homeowners
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. There's no cost and no obligation. You'll get photos of what we find whether or not you hire us.
The storm was months ago. Could my roof still be damaged?
Yes. Hail bruises can stay hidden for months before they crack and leak. We often find damage from storms that homeowners had already forgotten about.
Do I have to file an insurance claim?
No. That's your decision. We'll show you what we found and explain your options. If you decide to file, we'll provide documentation to support it and meet your adjuster at your property. Check your policy or ask your agent about filing deadlines, since they vary by policy.
You're based in Albuquerque. Are you really local?

Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. We handle flat, TPO, and metal roofs for businesses, churches, and rental properties, and we schedule work to limit disruption.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. Our work is backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty. It covers problems caused by our installation work, and it's separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the materials.
